The ophthalmologist said, "This is the warmest, driest winter I can remember."
"Everything's changing," I sagely replied.
"Your eyes haven't changed since they were last examined."
"But the glaciers are melting!"
"Only 10% of global warming is due to human pollution," he assured me.
"There are other ramifications. If we could only see the future!"
"See me next year," he said, and walked out.

Eyes dilated, in dark glasses,
I fumbled
my way home.
