Friends I know from Albuquerque said, "We're going to The Santa Fe, do you want to come? I don't feel like making the 60 mile trip, I thought, not realizing they meant the Santa Fe Restaurant, a short walk away. For a moment, I was in New Mexico again!

Looking for a place located in another city, neurons map various substitutions, exchanging names, foods, fashions, diseases, religions too. Ecologies differ. One grades wizened browns, another verdant greens, a rabid sun, or haze and drizzle.

Today, a bridge's humped spine forms an artificial horizon supporting strings of motorized vehicles over choppy waters carving this city in two: united by integrity, and by what's below.
