The thorough reader of the archives will observe that, although every Author (even those whose identities are unknown) has been afforded a brief legomenon, only some of the individual Writings are so annotated. As with nearly all of the texts in the archives, this tertiary layer of critication (i.e., the APPARATUS) is also fragmentary, and it has never been determined whether the Curator who took on this task was fatally interrupted or — as one wag surmised — merely lost heart.
