THE ISLAND WHY THE CITY

'Fish-shaped island'
one name, [] one attempt []
against the black black pulse
surrounding us,
the world farther out.

Or leaf or feather?
All equally emptied
like the names of God.

Exhausted
on the infinite shore,
we build an ark of thought []
with pairs of opposites like mirrors
before the island.

Our work against the waters
without form
requires such a tool:
the finite group of planes
dividing light.

Artificial city
you return from darkness
with seven colors in your teeth.
