Leno No Go For Late Show
Media ecology

Shaken
Two weeks after his return from eternity, Marshall McLuhan goes on the Tonight Show. The first words out of his mouth are, "Where's Johnny?"

Jay tries to play it for laughs but the founder of media ecology is quite serious. No one has told him of Carson's retirement. He seems visibly shaken by the news. Leno will remember this show as "the beginning of the end."

McLuhan walks off the set after observing that Leno is "far too high-resolution for late night." Six weeks later Leno is replaced by "Stan Dupp," a cartoon figure based on the international symbol for comedian.
Ratings soar.
