Elisabeth deSoleto's work, Wissenschafliche Weiterbildung für Frauen, is the second volume of the series, "Women's Studies and the Emancipatory Work for and with Women," whose purpose is to provide a medium for the already wide-spread offers available for continuing education and courses dedicated to women. The intention is to provide an extensive documentation about the practical work and an accompanying evaluation of the results and suggestions, which come out of this women-related research. This book provides the records of the final conference, "Women in Public, Profession and Family," which was a pilot scheme from the Koblenzer Women's Studies -- Scholaraly Continuing Studies for Women that took place at the University of Koblenz in November 1995. This course of Continuing Studies represents the first offer of emancipatory work for and with women by a university of the Rhineland-Palatinate. After the completion of a three-year project phase in the Autumn of 1995, the course, "Continuing Studies for Women," was at least preliminarily integrated into the regular lecture timetable of the University. During a first conference about the Women Studies Koblenz in Novermber 1993, curricular and institutional aspects were discussed. The above mentioned documentation of the complementary second conference portrays the results of the different fields of work concerning women's research and women's studies that examine the particular situation of women in public and private areas of life.
