      Introduction

There are more than 100 women's NGOs registered in the Ministry of Justice of the Kyrgyz Republic. The majority of them are united into the Congress of Women of Kyrgyzstan, a forum of women's NGOs.

The Mission of the international Network Women's Program is to encourage, promote and initiate gender-inclusive projects which seek to:

      1. Eradicate violations of women's rights
      2. Develop non-sexist inclusive policies at the international, regional, national and local levels
      3. Raise awareness of issues of gender through education, advocacy and research
      4. Promote national, regional and international cooperation and linkages among women's organizations which oppose gender discriminations and work for women's empowerment
      5. Support access of the region's women to women's activities internationally and to resources available to countries in transition
