The introductory graphic to Patchwork Girl depicts the themes that underlie the entire work: fragementation and regeneration. The graphic is torn apart and used for several of the five submaps that lead into the major sections of the work.

The Storyspace [13] map is carefully arrayed to show the subsections in Patchwork Girl, with the red anchors providing an additional graphic introduction to the subspaces.
