Jennifer L. Smith

Jennifer L. Smith, a Ph.D. Candidate in the Media, Art, and Text program at Virginia Commonwealth University. Her current research focus is on the intersection of new media texts and traditional literary techniques, with particular interest in the useful application of narratological principles to digital literary works. She also researches narrative dynamics, gender studies, and rhetoric and composition.

Jennifer is a fan of using a free-knowledge model for her dissertation research. If you would like to contact her to discuss the subjects mentioned above, please do so. She'd love to hear from you.

She graduated in 2005 from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts in English. In 2006 she graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Master of Arts in English Literature. She hangs the degrees she received above her desk, and thinks that they make very fine, if somewhat pricey, pieces of art.
